Introduction of YAA

What is the Young Accountants Association?

The Young Accountants Association (YAA) is a cross professional accounting bodies organisation, founded and run by a group of accountants aged below 40 for the purpose of promoting the needs and enhancing the development of young accountants in Hong Kong.

Though YAA is independent of any accounting professional bodies, we seek to co-operate with them and also with all the major CPA firms and corporations. Our activities are self-funded by members. In order to avoid hierarchy and bureaucracy, YAA is run by a core group of founding members instead of an executive committee with a chairman. We welcome members to join the core group to help organise activities.

Who can be a member?

If you are aged below 40 and a member or a student member of an accounting body, you are qualified to join YAA as a full member. If you are an undergraduate and planning to start your career in the accounting profession, you can join as a student member. No membership fee required.

Objectives
  • Enhance members' network with people in different fields.
  • Strengthen the status of members.
  • Unite and represent all qualified and prospective young accountants as members.
  • Encourage members to participate in social activities.
  • Provide young accountants with non-profession related knowledge.
